ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Dr. Ashok Mahashur was a Consultant Chest Physician in Mumbai, India. He joined the Department of Chest Medicine at the Seth G S Medical College and King Edward Memorial Hospital in 1977, and occupied various academic positions and became the Professor and Head of the Department in 1986. He joined a private hospital in 2000, after taking voluntary retirement from service and has been the President of the Indian Chest Society since 2006. With many years of clinical and teaching experience, he was also a postgraduate teacher of respiratory medicine at the University of Mumbai, and was a Memberof the Board of Studies at the Banaras Hindu University. He held beena postgraduate teacher and examiner for MD, DM, TDD diploma, and DNB courses.
